Bowmore design account to stay in Scotland
MORRISON BOWMORE DISTILLERS LTD
Bowmore Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky ,which retails across the globe for up to £4,000 a bottle, has been given a stunning new look. Adored by many for its rich, smoky, and complex flavour, Bowmore has long been a favourite amongst malt connoisseurs.
Having been distilled on Islay since 1779, Bowmore is actually the oldest distillery on the island and thus Bowmore is the ORIGINAL Islay malt. Research undertaken by the brand owner, Morrison Bowmore Distillers, highlighted this aspect as highly emotive amongst consumers, particularly amongst those who are familiar with Scotland’s great distilleries.
The new packaging features an embellished glass bottle, taller than previously, and a balance of traditional Bowmore Distillery imagery with high-tech foil engraving on the label and outer tube. The logo style has been simplified to give enhanced presence in both the on and off trade international sectors.
A selection of top London and Scottish creative agencies were invited to pitch for the project but Breeze Creative came up trumps with the new design as featured here. Breeze Creative founder, Craig Mackinlay, was delighted when he heard the news. “I have worked with Morrison Bowmore for 17 years now on their malt whisky portfolio and Bowmore is something for which I have immense passion. In addition to the many international awards Bowmore has won for its quality of spirit, we have also ranked up a fair number of awards for the packaging creative and I hope this new design gives us scope to win even more.”
